JOHN STANCILL NO 98 - UARA POST QUALIFYING REMARKS
Bristol Motor Speedway
Thursday March 19, 2009

After posting a 6th fastest time in practice Thursday morning,
John Stancill qualified the #98 in 20th position. "I'm
really disappointed in myself," stated Stancill. The car
felt really good in practice, Chase and the guys worked really
hard on the car and I felt very comfortable. I made a good
first lap in qualifying, it felt a little loose but I drove it
in harder than I should have on the second lap, hit those bumps,
and almost lost it." Stancill felt fortunate to keep the
car in tact and off the wall. "I know that if I could have
made a good second lap, I would have qualified in the top 10."
Clearly, the top 27 qualifiers posted a faster time on their 2nd
lap.
"I'm in the field - starting mid pack. I know I've got my work cut out for me, but I know I have a good car and if I'm patient, my finishing results should be much better than my qualifying results. I have a much better car than my starting position shows. "
Stancill will start 20th in the 100 lap feature scheduled to begin at 7pm Saturday March 21st.
