After viewing the track for the first time,  John Stancill and his Chase Pistone Crew qualified 10th  for the event at Wake County Speedway.  The top ten qualifiers redrew for position and Stancill started the race in 8th.  Stancill maintained his position during the first half of the event.  Stancill and his crew made the decision to pit on lap 102  and after making adjustments - restarted the race in 10th.  Stancill avoided several wrecks during the last few laps of the event and started 3rd on lap 148.  It was announced at this time that Stancill was being penalized for gaining positions under caution during the pit stop on lap 102.  Stancill crossed the finish line in 5th position - however due to the penalty - he was credited with an 8th place finish.
